The runes made from the Stars of Timmorran offer shortcuts in the art of spellcasting. Each rune has a spell bound to it, which can be invoked by a Mage to cast. Spells that would otherwise take extensive study to learn are made accessible to anyone who possesses one of these magically inscribed stones. While most modern Mages (and even some non Mages) make use of Runes, Runemasters make the casting of rune magic their speciality. These Mages study the runes in order to unlock their full potential; Intensifying or widening the effects of runes, casting runes with incredible speed and even inscribing new runes on stones, trinkets, weapons and armour are all skills known to the Runemasters.
